Raw A2 Whey
Whey is essentially the liquid protein that is left over from making cottage cheese, hard cheese, or Greek-style yogurt. It's primarily used as an inoculant for fermenting vegetables or to presoak nuts or grains. Our raw whey is far better for fermenting or presoaking because it hasn't been subjected to high heat.
Whey can also be used as a protein supplement as an alternative to whey protein powder (being a natural product, our whey is probably healthier for you than the commercially made dehydrated powder), although our whey has not been analyzed for percentages of protein etc.
When kept in the refrigerator, whey has an almost indefinite shelf life, so if you only need a small amount for fermenting etc., please know that what remains is very shelf stable.
Our Brown Swiss cows are on pasture 365 days per year. We rotationally graze them and they are moved once or twice daily to a fresh paddock of delicious greens. This ensures they are getting optimal nutrition to provide you with the best! They are also given fresh fruits & veggies when in season. And they have access to free-choice minerals and salt at all times.

CT Ranch uses reusable wide-mouth glass mason style jars for our dairy products. Jar trade is required or a $5/jar deposit will be charged at pickup.
The jar, lid & ring must be cleaned & sanitized before being brought to us as a trade. If not cleaned properly before being returned to us, they tend to harbor bacteria & mold growth, making them unusable for us to refill. Although we thoroughly clean and sanitize each jar before being filled, we take member safety very seriously and will not reuse jars, lids or rings that have been exposed to mold growth. Please help us keep everyone safe & wash those jars!
No jar credit will be given on jars that are returned dirty.
