At CT Ranch, we're passionate about raising Berkshire and Red Wattle cross pigs on our beautiful pastures, providing you with the highest quality pork that not only tastes amazing but also supports a healthier lifestyle and a sustainable farming future.

Raising heritage breeds is important for preserving genetic diversity in livestock, promoting sustainable farming practices, and maintaining a strong connection to our agricultural roots. These breeds are known for their ability to thrive on pasture and forage naturally, which results in delicious, healthy, and flavorful pork.

We believe in raising our pigs in the most natural and sustainable way possible.

That's why they are never given any hormones, steroids or antibiotics. Our pigs are raised on a diet of non-GMO, soy-free grain, garden veggies, fruits, kitchen scraps, and even leftover raw cow's milk and whey from our pastured A2 Brown Swiss dairy cows when available.

Health Benefits of Pasture-Raised Pork from Heritage Breeds

  • Higher Nutrient Content: Pasture-raised pork is known to have higher levels of essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and Omega-3 fatty acids compared to conventionally-raised pork. This is due to their natural diet and active lifestyle on the pasture.
  • Better Fat Quality: The fat composition of pasture-raised pork is healthier, containing more monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are known to support heart health.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Raising heritage breeds on pasture has a lower environmental impact, as it helps preserve the ecosystem and promotes biodiversity.

Why Does Soy-Free and Non-GMO Feed Matter?

  • Allergen-Free: Many people have allergies or sensitivities to soy, and by choosing soy-free pork, you can enjoy a delicious meal without the worry of an adverse reaction.
  • Sustainable Farming: Non-GMO feed ensures that our pigs are not consuming genetically modified organisms, which can have negative effects on both animal and human health. Additionally, non-GMO farming practices are more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

At CT Ranch, we take pride in raising our pigs with care and providing our customers with the highest quality pasture-raised pork.

We believe that our commitment to heritage breeds, soy-free and non-GMO feed contributes to the overall health benefits and exceptional taste of our pork products.

Thank you for choosing CT Ranch's pasture-raised pork. We look forward to continuing to provide you with delicious, healthy, and flavorful pork year after year!
