Spring has arrived at CT Ranch, and we’re ready to kick off another season of growth, good food, and healthy pastures! As the cows start venturing out onto fresh green grass, it’s the perfect time to share what we’re up to this year and how we’re improving the land for both our herd and the future of the ranch.

Pasture Health: A Focus on Regenerative Practices

Pasture health is the foundation of everything we do here at CT Ranch. Healthy soil leads to healthy grass, which leads to healthy cows—and that’s the sweet spot we’re always working toward. We’re committed to regenerative practices that allow our land to thrive year after year. One of the most effective ways to do this is through rotational grazing, where we move our cows through different paddocks, giving each section a chance to rest and regenerate. It’s all about balance, making sure the pasture isn’t overgrazed and has the time it needs to grow back strong.

New Year, New Plan: Intensive Grazing for Healthier Pastures

This year, we’re stepping up our approach with Management Intensive Grazing (MIG). This means rotating cows through smaller paddocks more frequently, which gives the land more focused attention. With MIG, we can cycle nutrients faster, enhance plant diversity, and ensure that no part of the pasture gets overgrazed. It’s a more targeted method of rotational grazing that helps keep the grass and soil in peak condition.

We’re excited about MIG because it’s a way to accelerate the health of our land, boosting soil fertility and plant life without using chemicals or artificial fertilizers. It’s all about letting nature work for us—and the results speak for themselves!

Looking Ahead

This year’s focus on MIG is part of our long-term commitment to improving our pasture management and making the ranch as sustainable as possible. We're also looking forward to expanding our knowledge and adapting to the land as we go—every season offers new lessons, and we’re always learning and adjusting to improve.

Thanks for being part of our journey. With your support, we’re able to keep making positive changes, one paddock at a time. We’ll keep you updated on how things progress, and as always, feel free to reach out if you have questions or want to learn more about our grazing practices.

Here’s to a healthy, thriving ranch this year!

Best,

Nicole & Pierre,
& The CT Ranch Family

P.S. Stay tuned for more updates on our MIG progress and other ranch developments. It’s going to be an exciting year!

How Raw Cream Is Made: The CT Ranch Way

At CT Ranch, we love giving you a peek behind the scenes – especially when it comes to one of the most-loved products on the farm: our rich, golden raw cream. Made from our grass-fed, A2/A2 raw milk, cream has become a staple for many of our customers. It’s one of those simple foods that speaks for itself, but the process behind it is just as important as the end result.

Colostrum: Nature’s First Superfood

Every so often, the health world “discovers” something farmers have quietly known forever. Colostrum is one of those things. Despite the recent buzz, colostrum isn’t some new wellness trend or powdered miracle dreamed up in a lab. It’s simply the very first milk a mother produces after giving birth. That’s it. No marketing team required.
